How did it all happen with Las Vegas

How did it all happen with Las Vegas

Las Vegas was since ever a very famous city. The way it developed and grew until today, there is no other city existing like that in the entire world. The first settler arrived here in 1855, attracted by the artesian springs in the arid valley along the Old Spanish Trail, hence the name Las Vegas (The Meadows). Later on, when the Salt Lake Railroad was built in 1905, Las Vegas became a Railroad town. In 1931 Gambling got legalized for the city and it started growing immensely. A big roal for it also played several close by locations, like the Hoover Dam, which got built in the 1930's and Lake Mead, with the close by Mount Charleston Recreation Area and the Death Valley National Park. Those became very soon popular tourist attractions.

Las Vegas is also famous being a year round desert resort, where the main commercial appeal is "The Strip"", an array of luxury Hotels and Casinos, including Nightclubs - all for gambling and exotic entertainment. One can find it on the Las Vegas Boulevard South, where all the neon lights and lighted billboards tell their story every other night. 1940 began another big boom, but at this time several criminals and syndicates joined the scene and opened the Flamingo Hotel with Bugsy Siegel.

With the legalization of Gambling in the beginning of the 1930's Las Vegas started to become a popular tourist destination and got finally the somehow ugly nickname "sin-city". In 1950's more Casinos were built and again in mid 1960's began another major boom, when Howard Hughes started buying many local businesses and properties. Then in the 1980's extravagant Hotel Casino Complexes were built, specially emphasizing family entertainment. And so it came about, that since the 1950's and as it went through the following decades, Las Vegas could be counted as the fastest-growing American metropolitan.

Today Las Vegas is going through several changes. The reputation of sex and pleasure, money and luck is not what the city officials desire to keep forever. Saying "Yes" for all the Casinos, the Gambling and "The Strip", with all its shows and entertainment opportunities - this all will be kept and stay. But the overall picture of the city is intended to change into a nice, good looking and clean American picture, where everything is natural and kept on a high standard. The new plans are there and only have to be executed.

The prices for visiting the city range in all categories, to intentionally attract as many visitors as possible. There are always very special offers available for getting to Las Vegas, inviting lots of people to come. The main idea simply behind is: "Please spend all your real money after arriving anyways."
It is actual very fascinating and adventures, imagining this city by night with all the ongoing gambling and shows, and it can really be worth it, getting down there for a nice weekend.

With a huge hope and the best spirit to play, we all should wish for another big booming future for an even more exciting Las Vegas.
